Welcome to the section of the New Harmony devoted exclusively to you, the parents. Educating our children is a difficult task, but an important one. The knowledge, skills, and experiences they pick up here at New Harmony School are the ones they'll be taking into the world as they reach adulthood, and it is our mission to ensure that they are well equipped for the life ahead of them. The young men and women who walk these halls will one day be the driving forces in our community, our nation, and even the world and the faculty and staff here at the school are honored to be a part of that. The state of Indiana has laid out standards for excellence in the areas of language arts, math, science, and social sciences for us to follow as we, as educators, strive to impart the knowledge which lays the foundation for this future.
Education does not stop when the bell rings though. The learning experience continues after school is out into our parks, businesses, and most importantly, our homes. This is where you, the parent, come in to carry on the fostering of your child's growth and development. Here at New Harmony Schools, we encourage parent interaction and want you to be as much a part of your child's educational development as we are. One of the greatest things about New Harmony, both the town and the school, is our sense of family and community and it is that unity that is needed to ensure our students are able to take on all the challenges life has to throw at them. If you want to check on your student's grades, click on the Harmony link pertinent to your student's grade level on the left. Username and password can be obtained from the office.
On the left you will find all sorts of helpful links that can be used to extend your child's education. The state of Indiana has provided several valuable resources on the different standards we teach and helpful tips for helping students study.
As we have in the past, our students will have the opportunity to attend the 2009 inauguration of our next president! You can find links to our page devoted to the trip on the Main Menu to the left and on our homepage to keep up on all the events and happenings of this historic trip.
